iStudySmart™ aims to empower students in the areas of planning and organisation, presentation and writing skills. We firmly believe that preparing our students for the future is an important role of education and therefore, the acquisition of these skills enable our students to stand in good stead as they prepare to transition into tertiary level education and institutes of higher learning.
The 4 Modules
The iStudySmart programme 2021 intake will take place in Term 1, 2021 over two terms (Term 1 & 2, 2021). Registration is open and the deadline to sign up is by the 30th of Nov, 2020. Please approach the student service associates (SSAs) at the learning centres to register.
iStudySmart is NOT funded by the Ministry of Education (MOE), the MOE only supply a grant for the DAS Main Literacy Programme (MLP).
iStudySmart™™ is delivered through blended learning where most of the lessons are accessible online (e-learning). Face-to-face consultation sessions will also be provided to students at one of the following learning centres (Parkway Parade, Bishan, Jurong Point) but consultation sessions can also be delivered online.
Students get a chance to learn with virtual reality (VR). iStudySmart™ uses VR technology to allow students to immerse themselves in an environment as though they are giving their presentation to a room of audience with the use of VR goggles!
With the acquisition of the relevant study skills, it will definitely better prepare your child as s/he makes the transition to Institutes of Higher Learning.
Our ability to speak and present especially in formal situations makes an enormous difference to the opportunities that will give to us by people/employers who assess us our capacity firstly based on how we present ourselves and our ideas. Therefore, iStudySmart™ provides students with the opportunity to learn and practice life skills that will matter very much in their future academic and professional careers. - Dr Shanti Benjamin, DAS ELL Curriculum Team consultant and iStudySmart™ judge
